Marantz Announces CINEMA AV Series 2 Models – First Look

Marantz have announced the release of four revised models’ in its CINEMA range of AV Receivers, the CINEMA 50 Series 2, CINEMA 60 Series 2, CINEMA 60 DAB Series 2 and the slimline CINEMA 70s Series 2. These upgraded models offer; upgraded DACs, broader Dirac Live support, smarter installation tools and gaming-friendly HDMI refinements. They still feature Marantz’s familiar industrial design and arrive complete with premium finishing and copper internal detailing.
Marantz CINEMA 50 Series 2, CINEMA 60 Series 2 and CINEMA 70 Series 2
The four models will feature a new 32-bit, eight-channel DAC with Dirac Live Room Correction being available as an optional paid upgrade on the CINEMA 60 Series 2, CINEMA 60 DAB Series 2 and CINEMA 70s Series 2, with the CINEMA 50 Series 2 continuing to support the Dirac full suite.

Software and connectivity enhancements across the range include; a future firmware update to support Low-Latency Bluetooth LE Audio for compatible headphones and devices, while the updated HEOS platform is said to provide faster streaming and improved multi-room operation. The receivers now include Web Control 2.0, allowing system setup and control from a smartphone, tablet or computer without having to use on-screen TV menus. HDMI Diagnostics 2.0 has also been included for use in CI mode, plus a new Channel Level Monitoring feature provides a real-time view of speaker activity. Gamers have not been forgotten with these new receivers now supporting 1440p video pass-through and AMD FreeSync compatibility for supported PCs and gaming consoles.

The flagship CINEMA 50 Series 2, offers nine channels of amplification at 110 wpc, 11.4-channel of processing and the most comprehensive feature set to include; expanded Dirac support, Audyssey MultEQ XT32, a Dolby Atmos Channel Expander designed to make use of every connected speaker, and a centre Bi-Amp mode for improved dialogue clarity.
The CINEMA 60 DAB Series 2 and the CINEMA 60 Series 2 are said to bring many of the platforms innovations to those with less space, while the CINEMA 70s Series 2 offers a slimline design. All three offer Audyssey MultEQ and seven channels of amplification, the CINEMA 60 models delivering 100wpc while the CINEMA 70 Series 2 delivers 50wpc.

The Marantz CINEMA 50 Series 2, CINEMA 60 Series 2 and CINEMA 60 DAB Series 2 are due from August 15, 2026, with the CINEMA 70s Series 2 following on September 15, 2026.
