The AV 10 and AMP 10 look like the long awaited replacements for the venerable Denon AVP-A1HDCI and POA-A1HDCI flagship separates.

No confirmed pricing yet on the DIRAC Live firmware upgrades. Estimations are in the range of $260 for the basic license. The bass control upgrade, DIRAC Live Bass Control (DLBC), is slated for sometime in 2024 and is rumored to carry a price tag of $350 if purchased at the same time as the basic DIRAC, or $100 if purchased as a later upgrade. The DIRAC basic upgrade will not be available until after a system firmware upgrade in March 2023.

It has also been confirmed that the DIRAC upgradable receivers will simultaneously support both Audyssey and DIRAC EQ by using one of its two speaker presets for each calibration.

The big question is will the AV10 support the rumored DIRAC Spatial Room Correction (DSRC) firmware upgrade like the Denon A1H is rumored to.

DIRAC UPGRADE AVAILABLE

The “Limited bandwidth” version costs $259 and the “Full bandwidth” version cost $349. You can purchase your desired version in the DIRAC online store and this will get you the required license key to unlock the product. You’ll also need a microphone as the Audyssey mic included with these receivers is not compatible with DIRAC Live. DIRAC recommends either the UMIK-1 ($79) or UMIK-2 ($195) microphones.

NOTE: This update does not include Dirac Bass Control. DIRAC’s offering for calibrating multiple subwoofers. It is currently planned to be made avilable in 2024 and all current DIRAC Live upgradeable models will support this additional paid upgrade.
