Clearaudio Signature Turntable – Quick Look

Clearaudio of Germany have just announced a special edition of their new Concept Signature turntable that is exclusively for the US market, now just called the Signature turntable. This new model has been made both specifically and exclusively for the U.S. market, and it will be distributed in the US by Musical Surroundings.
The Signature will be available in a “triple black” finish, and comes with two tonearm options; either the Tracer Black tonearm or the Black Satisfy tonearm.
Both Signature design options come supplied with the Signature Professional Power 12v black outboard linear power supply. They also combine technological and material science advancements from the entire Clearaudio turntable line, highlighted by the AiR 12v DC coreless motor and a newly developed “Tacho-Speed-Control” that constantly monitors the rotational speed and provides real-time feedback to the control electronics supporting both 331/3 and 45 RPM speeds.
The AiR 12v DC coreless motor is supported and isolated by a version of the O-Ring improved motor suspension(IMS), that was derived from the Reference Jubilee turntable, providing for enhanced vibration control. While the newly developed “Tacho-Speed-Control” that constantly monitors the rotational speed and provides real-time feedback to the control electronics, enables the system to immediately respond to dynamic influences such as stylus drag, belt tension, friction, or temperature.
Keeping noise, vibration and interference away from the turntable, the external, professional, transformer-based linear 12volt power supply, is included at no additional cost. It ensures a pure power source and includes self-regulating electronics.
Supporting the turntable chassis and providing additional isolation are four adjustable leveling feet that are also found on the Performance DC turntable.
Tracer Black Signature Satisfy Black
The Signature comes with a choice of two tonearms both with fixed headshells, either the Tracer Black or new Signature Black. The new Signature Black is claimed to be Clearaudio’s “established reference point,”, while the The Tracer Black features a precision bearing, an aluminum headshell with a large mounting surface for easy azimuth alignment, and an optimal center of gravity counterweight.
Both arms feature black carbon fiber armtubes that are said to be exceptionally lightweight and rigid, reducing resonance and enhancing clarity. The tonearms are hardwired and terminated with gold-plated RCA plugs, with the Signature Black using Clearaudio Direct Wire and the Tracer using Clearaudio Sixstream cables.
Arm and cartridge adjustments include: tracking weight, overhang, azimuth, zenith, bias and VTA.
