Accuphase have just announced a new integrated amplifier, the E700. A no frills purists replacement to their E650. Containing no DAC or phono stages the design supports two module slots that accept the AD-60 RIAA & DAC-60 optional cards.

Upgrades to this latest model include the addition of an in-house developed heavy-duty volume sensor and ‘Balanced Accuphase Analogue Vari-gain Amplifier (AAVA) volume control. Its design is composed of two balanced circuits helping to lower noise and level match the left and right channels with improved accuracy. Other upgrades include; the optimized component placement, pcb foil patterns and ground layouts of the pre-amplifier board and the addition of a noise and distortion cancelling circuit to the current-voltage conversion circuit.

The power amplifiers get a lift to with an “advanced Multiple Circuit Summing-up+ (MCS+) circuit” and a current feedback amplification circuit helping create a damping factor of 1000.

The Class A power amplifiers use 4 pairs of paralleled push-pull POWER MOSFETS each that can supply; 2x70W at 4 ohms, 2x35W at 8 ohms and 2x140W into 2 ohms. This linear power behavior with load is backed up with a huge TOROID power supply and large filter capacitors.
