SVS Auto EQ Room Correction For R|Evolution Subs Arrives

SVS has announced the free availability of their SVS Auto EQ, a powerful new feature for its 3000 R|Evolution, 5000 R|Evolution, and 17-Ultra R|Evolution subwoofers. Available via a free over-the-air update to the SVS Subwoofer Control App, SVS Auto EQ automatically optimizes in-room subwoofer performance using a smartphone microphone or optional external microphone along with their proprietary SVS equalization firmware.
There is no manual tuning and no complicated setup, SVS Auto EQ claims to address room acoustic anomalies. In just a few guided steps, the feature analyzes in-room frequency response, applies precision equalization, intelligently manages room gain, and shapes subwoofer output at multiple listening positions. The result is said to produce; cleaner, tighter, more accurate, and evenly distributed bass throughout the listening area.

Before-and-after results of the calibration are also shown in the app. For greater measurement accuracy, SVS offers an optional external SVS Auto EQ Mic for €61.00/$45.00/£45.00 TBC.
SVS Auto EQ is made possible by a 295 MHz Analog Devices DSP, the most powerful processor ever deployed in a home subwoofer. In addition to the new calibration feature, the DSP allows SVS R|Evolution subwoofers to take control of a room, while expanding tuning and control functions, managing thermal performance, and controlling the flow of current to the motor with absolute precision.
