Reavon UBR-X110 Universal 4K Blu-ray player – Preview

French company Reavon have released a new 4K universal disc player, the UBR-X110. This new player is essentially a clone of the original UBR-X100 with the additional capacity to play SACD discs in addition to the original UHD Blu-ray, Blu-ray, DVD, DVD Audio, CD discs. No it doesn’t play HD-DVD and it still does not support HDR10+, but like the other two models does support HDR10 and Dolby Vision.
There are no apparent changes over the UBR-X100 to the new players construction, hardware or connectivity still supporting:
- Mediatek MTK8581 SoC
- Quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 CPU cluster
- ARM Mali-T860 MP2 GPU
- HDMI 1 Out for Audio/Video
- HDMI 2 for Audio Only
- Digital Coaxial Out
- Digital Optical Out
- USB In (1 USB 2.0 Front, 1 USB 3.0 Rear)
- Ethernet
With a USA MSRP of $999.00 it is $100.00 more expensive than the UBR-X100 but if you need SACD playback the top of the line UBR-X200 would set you back $1,799.00. So for those of you that do not need the analog decoding of the UBR-X200 but want SACD compatibility the additional $100.00 is a good deal.
Other audio formats supported by the UBR-X110 are:
- Music File Playback: FLAC (2.0/5.1), M4A, AIF, AIFF, DSF (2.0/5.1), DFF (2.0/5.1), MP3, OGG, APE all via USB and DLNA
- Home Theater Audio: Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Atmos, DTS, DTSHD MA, DTS-HD HRA, DTS:X
The player being a clone of the original UBR-X100 still offers the same rigid chassis, power consumption, 4K scaling, True 24p Cinema playback, video adjustments and supports firmware updates.

Does the x110 do vertical stretch for anamorphic disc and can it play all region with special codes. Thanks for an answer. Waynespobox@msn.com
Hi Wayne,
The X110 player can zoom and alter aspect ratios using the remotes Zoom button. However, I do not know what options are provided via this function. I suspect that it will be very similar to that of the Oppo 203. I do not believe that it offers a 21×9 CIH mode like the Oppo eventually did.
Yes you can buy the Reavon as a region free model from companies like the Oppostore and Audiocom but I do not believe that anybody is offering a firmware upgrade for the option.
You should email Reavon directly if you need the exact zoom functions avilable. They do not sell region free players.
