Marantz’s latest Stereo 70s AV receiver promises a big sound from an elegantly slim package. Designed to perform like a full-sized amplifier, this slim package stands just 4.3″ (11cm) high and comes in black and silver finishes.
The Stereo 70s squeezes the features and flexibility found in the Cinema series into a slender 2 channel receiver. Its Hyper-Dynamic Amplifier Modules (HDAM) provide 75 watts per channel into 8ohms, both channels driven, there are six HDMI inputs, three of which support 8K and one output that supports ARC for easy connectivity to TV’s and future video and gaming components. HDMI connectivity supports; HDR / HLG / Dolby Vision / HDR10+ / Dynamic HDR with gamers being catered for with; ALLM, VRR and QFT at 4K120 & 8K60.
Standard and Hi-Res files (192KHz/24bit) audio files are catered and include; MP3, WMA, AAC, FLAC HD 192/24, WAV 192/24, ALAC 192/31 plus DSD 2.8 MHz / 5.6MHz. The 70s supports Airplay 2, is Roon tested and has HEOS built-in for all your streaming and multi-room playback needs with access to; Amazon Music HD, Amazon Music, TIDAL, Deezer, iHeart Radio, Napster, Soundcloud, Mood Mix and more. Plus an FM/DAB tuner is included.
Vinyl enthusiasts are looked after with its MM phono input, while digital connectivity is available with both coaxial and optical inputs. Other rear panel connectivity includes; 3 RCA stereo line inputs, USB/USB power, zone 1/2 RCA stereo line outs, RCA control I/O and F type antenna connections. Bass buffs will enjoy the support for up to 2 subwoofers and the dual A/B speaker outputs can be used to drive either two pairs or for bi-wiring.
The On Screen Display feature uses your TV screen to assist with configuration/setup using apps for; Smart Phones & Tablets (iOS & Android) and the Marantz AVR App. Plus there is extensive support for Smart Home integration and control with voice assistance from, Alexa, Google Voice Assistant, Apple HomePod and JoshAi. With general control being available via the simple front panels controls, porthole display window and included lRC-052SR remote.
