Denon has just announced a replacement for the AVR-X6700H, the AVR-X6800H that is to be made in Japan. It should be available for delivery in 2024 and features a number of upgrades, including an 11.4 architecture with eleven 140 watt channels of amplification and support for 8K video on all of its seven HDMI inputs and three HDMI outputs (2 main 1 zone). The receiver will also support a preamplifier mode with up to 13.4 channels of processing.

All the AV processing features of the AVR-X6700H will carry over into this latest flagship model including Audyssey room correction with the option of adding Dirac Live at extra cost. Support for Dolby Atmos and the other key immersive surround-sound formats including; DTS:X, IMAX Enhanced and Auro-3D are available, plus pass-through and support for the high dynamic range (HDR) formats; Dolby Vision, Dynamic HDR10, HDR10+, HDR10 and HLG. It will also feature multiroom wireless streaming via Denon’s HEOS platform and a multitude of setup and configuration options to accommodate most AV setups.

    Still using RCA outputs? What’s wrong with going to balanced XLR or even optical? To many unnecessary features and, why would I route my video through a receiver? It’s not where it belongs.
    I sure wish companies would make a true audiophile receiver with the focus on simplicity and sound quality and less internet based features. The only component I have connected to the internet, is a simple Blu-Ray player for streaming free TV.
    Blue tooth is a plus for headphones, if you’re in to awful sounding headphones. I just can’t believe audio equipment has gone so bad and over priced in the last 20 years.
