Based in the Italian city of Pisa, Hi-Fi brand M2Tech have just announced their new Classic Range of audio products that includes; the Classic Integrated Amplifier and the Classic DAC/Renderer.

The Classic Integrated Amplifier is the first product to be released and is an all analog design with no digital audio compatibility or I/O. It has a somewhat retro appearance with a brushed aluminum front panel including simple controls and indicators, like the classic amplifiers of yesteryear. This all-analogue stereo design uses Class AB power amplifiers that are said to be able to deliver 60wpc into 8 Ohms and 100wpc into 4 Ohms. Delivering up a dynamic power of 240wpc into 4 Ohms in 10-second bursts. Power amplifier electronic protection is kept to a minimum, relying upon thermal sensors and the amplifiers oversized design.

The bulk of the signal design is based upon discrete components rather than op-amps, with the volume control being implemented using a servo controlled Alps RK27 potentiometer and the input selection using relays. Ample power is available from the analog power supply that uses a custom toroidal transformer helping to ensure low noise and interfering magnetic fields, with its design said to be able to support the high dynamic power requirements.

Connectivity includes; a switchable MM/MC RIAA phono input that can also support line levels, three unbalanced RCA stereo line level inputs and one balanced XLR stereo input. There are unbalanced stereo RCA line level pre-outs, two pairs of speaker binding posts and a front panel headphone output.

Control is available via the minimalistic front panel controls, the supplied infra-red remote and by Wi-Fi using the accompanying free smartphone app for the Android phones and iPhones. The app also allowing the user to configure the amplifier. Hard wired control is available using the 12VDC trigger connectivity.
