Hegel has just announced the H190v streaming amplifier, an upgrade on the Norwegian company’s most popular model, the H190. It offers an array of features including; streaming, DAC, headphone output, smart-home integration, and a top-of-the-line MM phono preamplifier. From streaming to analog vinyl playback, the H190v seamlessly integrates with virtually any audio source.

This latest design has been crafted with precision and a minimalist elegance, being available in both black and white finishes. It is housed in a solid steel chassis featuring a thick aluminum front panel, with a single volume and source selector controls straddling an OLED display screen.

The steel chassis hides the large toroidal transformer that feeds power to a 150wpc into 8 Ohms Class AB amplifier, having a damping factor of 4000 and a frequency response of 5Hz – 100KHz. Separate supplies driving the H190v’s pre-amplifier and DAC sections.

For all those vinyl enthusiasts out there a MM RIAA phono stage is now included which, according to Hegel, is a scaled-down version of their very successful V10 phono preamplifier. While late night lightening is supported by a front panel 6.3mm headphone output with a high-quality dedicated headphone amplifier.

Streaming is only supported via Ethernet as there is no Wi-Fi included in this revised model, having support for; AirPlay, Spotify Connect, Roon Ready and DLNA/UPnP. Formats including; MP3, WAV, FLAC, ALAC, AAC, PCM and Ogg.

Finally, besides the TV learning remote functionality, the H190v also features IP control for smart home integration with brands like Control4, Crestron, and Savant.
