Hegel Announce H200 And Hegel A200 Integrated Amplifiers

Norwegian HiFi brand Hegel has announced two new integrated amplifiers, the Hegel H200 and Hegel A200, designed around the same 150W per channel Class A/B amplifier platform but aimed at different of system configurations. The H200 combines analogue amplification, digital connectivity and streaming, while the A200 is a fully analogue design. Both amplifiers feature Hegel’s SoundEngine2 technology, a damping factor of more than 4,000 and supports 2-ohm speaker loads. The H200 is available in black or white finishes, while the A200 is offered in black.
The Hegel H200 is an all-in-one integrated amplifier that combines analogue amplification with an onboard DAC, a streaming platform, moving magnet phono stage, derived from Hegel’s V10 phono stage and a headphone output. Power output is rated at 150wpc having a frequency response from 5Hz to 100KHz. Streaming support includes Spotify Connect (Lossless), TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, Apple AirPlay, Google Cast, Roon Ready, UPnP playback, internet radio and podcasts via the Hegel Control app. Streaming format support includes; MP3, WAV, FLAC, ALAC, AIFF, AAC, PCM and Ogg.
The amplifier also supports automatic firmware updates and can integrate with Control4, Crestron HOME and Crestron SIMPL smart home systems. Additional features include programmable input levels, TV remote learning, auto standby and configurable display brightness.
Rear panel connectivity includes; 1 x XLR and 2 x RCA stereo analogue inputs, 1 x MM phono RCA input, 1 x fixed and variable stereo RCA 2 pairs of speaker binding posts. Digital connectivity includes; 1 x coaxial, 2 x optical, 1 x USB-B, 1 x USB-A and 1 x RJ45 network inputs, with USB drive playback supporting libraries of up to 10,000 tracks. The single coaxial digital output supports the addition of an external DAC if required. Front panel connectivity includes 1 x headphone socket.
The Hegel A200 is designed using the same same amplifier platform as the H200 but omits all its digital circuitry. Like the H200, the A200 incorporates SoundEngine2 technology, 150W per channel into 8 ohms, a frequency response from 5Hz to 100KHz and support for speaker loads down to 2 ohms offering a damping factor greater than 4,000. Both models also include; TV remote learning, adjustable input gain, startup and maximum volume settings, automatic standby and display dimming.
The A200 amplifier rear panel provides 1 x XLR and 2 x RCA stereo analogue inputs, 1 x MM phono RCA input, 1 x fixed and variable stereo RCA outputs and 2 pairs of speaker binding posts. Front panel connectivity includes 1 x headphone socket.
Availability:
The H200 is scheduled to begin shipping in late August, with the A200 following in October.
