Eversolo has announced the new DMP-A8 streaming pre-amplifier it combines Music Streamer, DAP, DAC and preamp all in one device and it is now available for preorder.

The DMP-A8 uses the Eversolo Original sampling-rate audio engine (EOS) that allows any audio playback to bypass the Android SRC limitation, supporting the audio pass-through of third-party apps such as Apple Music hi-res Direct output. It supports the majority of ultra-high sampling master formats including; CD-quality formats (FLAC, WAV, APE), DSD512 (.dsf/.dff/.iso/.dst) and PCM up to 768KHz 32Bit. Streaming is available via Air Play, DLNA and Tidal Connect etc., with music services to include; TIDAL, Qobuz, HIRESAUDIO, Deezer, Radio Paradise and Amazon Music etc.

The DMP-A8 maybe used as just a digital platform connecting to other high end DAC’s via its; HDMI IIS, USB, optical (x1) and coaxial (x1) outputs. As a DAC it uses the AKM flagship AK4499EX and AK4191EX VEVET SOUND | VERITA DAC solution supporting a wide range of digital inputs to include; coaxial (x2), optical (x2) and USB B input for connection to PC’s and mobile devices.

It supports both balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA analog stereo inputs/outputs and APTX HD Bluetooth audio input. It can also be directly paired with active speakers or suitable power amplifiers with control to other devices available via its 12VDC trigger out.

Local storage is available using the M.2 NVMe SSD card slot built into the chassis bottom. It supports up to 4TB internally with additional external storage being available through the USB OTG port.

The DMP-A8’s dual power supply design helps to eliminate interference and noise between the digital and analog sections by using a low flux leakage toroidal transformer and analog supply for the audio circuits and a separate high quality SMPS for the digital circuits. Patented smart switching technology is included in order or support worldwide voltage differences.

  • 3rd generation XMOS 316 audio interface supporting the USB ports up to DSD 512 native and PCM768@32bit and the optical and coaxial ports up to DSD64 (DoP) and PCM 192KHz@24bit.
  • Dual high precision clocks (45.1584Mhz & 49.152MHz) for decoding of 44.1Khz and 48KHz digital streams.
  • A fully balanced pre-amplifier with up to +10dB gain when used with the R2R analog volume control for ultra low noise and distortion.
  • A fully balanced R2R volume control circuit composed of precision resistors and relays that ensures optimal operation of the DAC at all times.
  • HDMI-IIS and ARC connectivity.
  • A Qualcomm QCC 5125 Bluetooth module that supports; SBC/AAC/aptX/aptX LL/aptX HD/LDAC and is compatible with Bluetooth5.0.

Finally, the DMP-A8 is made from CNC machined aviation grade aluminum that is finished with a black brushed panel and black frosted anodized body. Its front panel includes a 6″ high-definition LCD touchscreen that displays; the units current status, streaming source information, cover art and song/album metadata, the local music library and provides access to the setup and configuration menu options and third-party apps.
