Cyrus Power-XR And Classic POWER Stereo Amplifiers

The British Hi-Fi brand Cyrus is about to launch their new Power-XR and Classic POWER amplifiers. These latest models feature; lower noise floors and class A/B power amplifiers with high current drive to satisfy the most challenging of loudspeaker loads.

Cyrus Power-XR Amplifier

The wideband power amplifier of the Power-XR provides a power output of 2×110 watts into 6 Ω and responds from D.C. to beyond 100kHz ensuring ruler flat frequency response and keeping any undesirable phase shifts out of the audio band. Rear panel connectivity includes; both RCA unbalanced inputs, with daisy-chain out and XLR balanced inputs, a 12V trigger input, MC-BUS connection for control integration with Cyrus components, a firmware upgrade port and a PSU-XR PSU upgrade connection.

The internal toroidal power transformer, provides 408VA of power to the high capacity internal power supply. The optional PSU-XR raises the bar by sourcing no less than five independent regulated supplies in a single box. For the Power-XR a pair of these are assigned to provide ultra-smooth power for the voltage amplifier, and a second pair to provide a huge dynamic boost for the power amplifier.

Cyrus Classic POWER Amplifier

The wideband power amplifier of the Classic POWER provides a power output of 2×110 watts into 6 Ω and responds from D.C. to beyond 50kHz ensuring ruler flat frequency response and keeping any undesirable phase shifts out of the audio band. Rear panel connectivity includes; both RCA unbalanced inputs, with daisy-chain out, and XLR balanced inputs, a 12V trigger input, MC-BUS connection for control integration with Cyrus components, a firmware upgrade port and a PSX-R2 PSU upgrade connection.

The internal toroidal power transformer, provides 408VA of power to the high capacity internal power supply. For increased performance the Classic POWER includes a port for the optional PSX-R2 power supply. Power from the PSX-R2 is routed internally to the voltage amplifier stage of the Classic POWER to provide a more stable, lower-noise power supply to this key part of the amplifier.
