The Chinese company Cayin has announced the Jazz 70 integrated tube power amplifier that offers; push-pull amplification with switchable Triode and Ultralinear modes and Bluetooth connectivity. The new Jazz 70 sits below the Jazz 80, Jazz 90 and Jazz 100, giving Cayin a more accessible entry point into a range. This new design employs four matched EL34 output valves in a Class AB1 push-pull configuration while three 12AU7/ECC82 valves handle preamplification. Available with a black or silver front panel for; £1,400, $1,399.00 or €1,598.00.

Enclosed in a removable metal cage, the design uses point-to-point wiring, a hand-wound low-leakage toroidal power transformer and wide-bandwidth EI output transformers, with separate 4-ohm and 8-ohm speaker terminals provided at the rear. Switching between Class AB1 Ultralinear 35wpc and Triode 17wpc is accomplished using a top plate switch. Biasing is manual with each output tube getting its own trim pot, and two backlit meters on the front act as bias indicators during setup and VU meters during playback.

The only digital input is Bluetooth 5.1 that is built around built around Qualcomm’s QCC5125 chipset and an ESS ES9018K2M DAC. Codec support includes LDAC, aptX HD, aptX Low Latency, aptX, AAC and SBC. There is no other digital I/O and no phono support, but it does come with a remote control.

Rear panel connectivity includes; 3 x stereo RCA line level input, 1 x stereo speaker binding posts -4Ω/8Ω, 1 x Bluetooth AE. Front panel supports the 16 ohms to 300 ohms headphone output.
