Cambridge Audio has recently released a free firmware upgrade for the AXN10 and MXN10 that adds additional functionality to these streamers from within the Stream Magic app and additional app search functions and options.

The firmware upgrade is applied via the latest V6.2 Stream Magic app released late July and includes:

  • Remote pre-amp volume control for both the AXN10 and MXN10 streamers
  • Two new browsing functions:
    • Go to Album
    • Go to Artist
  • Plus the Now Playing Screen now offers more options for favoriting and track addition to playlists.

Firmware Release Date: 26th July 2023

General release 132-b-007 is now available for AXN10/MXN10.

  • Enabled pre-amp mode/volume control for the analogue line outputs
  • Fixed re-pairing bluetooth input with Windows 10 and Linux operating systems
  • Improved network connectivity when switching between multiple access point on mesh networks
  • Improved playback states when skipping multiple tracks
  • Disabled Spotify Normalisation
  • Fixed a crash when selecting UPnP track presets after firmware upgrade
  • Show the Bluetooth source device name on the “Now Playing” screen

The addition of the pre-amp volume control functionality still allows your streaming service’s app control of volume or playback amplifier device.

Besides this customer driven request for this added functionality Cambridge Audio UK has also, for a limited period, dropped the price of the AXN10 to £499.00. (Offer ends 31st August 23 or while stocks last.)
