So for all of you streamers out there who have older equipment that doesn’t support streaming the Bluesound streaming HUB comes to your rescue with few equipment upheavals.
Bluesound, the sister company of Canada’s NAD Electronics and PSB Speakers specialize in wireless streaming gear. They have recently announced an accessory hub that turns virtually any wired analog or digital audio source into an app-controllable multi-room streaming player. The Bluesound HUB can be added to any audio source in order to transmit music to one or more Bluesound players around the home. These sources instantly become network connected devices from which your Bluesound system can play music.
Source connectivity to the HUB’s rear panel includes:
  • HDMI e-ARC
  • Digital coax
  • Digital optical
  • Analog stereo – line level
  • Analog stereo – moving magnet (MM) phono

The MM phono input acts like a “networked low-noise, wide-bandwidth phono preamp” allowing you to listen to LPs over BluOS-enabled speakers in other parts of the house.

Each of these HUB’s can manage one analog and one digital source simultaneously, with sampling rates of up to with up to 192kHz and bit depths up to 24 bits. Four HUB’s are supported on a single network and are configured using BluOS. The BluOS app is loaded onto a  smartphone, tablet or computer then using the simple setup wizard in the BluOS Controller app allows the easy addition of new sources to a wired or Wi-Fi-based BluOS network.
