Bluesound has expanded their range of hi-res wireless audio players, with the Bluesound POWERNODE EDGE. It is a single zone, wireless music streaming amplifier..…an entry-level “just add speakers” device. Combining streaming sources, control, and amplification all in one sleek and affordable, device.

With audiophile-grade components, up to 24 bits/192 kHz hi-res audio, wireless multi-room capabilities and smartphone controls, all combining to make the POWERNODE EDGE a great ‘building block’ amplifier to start, extend or complete a hi-res streaming audio system of any size. Other options include adding the Pulse Sub+ wireless subwoofer for a compact 2.1 stereo system. Alternatively, it can power the rear channels of a Bluesound wireless surround sound setup.

Its small 1U rack height and half-rack width together with its simple form factor lets it integrate easily with any decor. The included multi-orientation wall bracket makes it simple to install behind furniture and the 2 x 40 watts DirectDigital™ amplifier handles hi-res audio tracks up to 24-bit/192kHz supporting MQA playback.

Dozens of natively integrated music services and thousands of internet radio stations are directly accessible using the BluOS™ Controller app and front touch panel controls. Personal music may be accessed from your library via the built in dual-band Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) and RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet or via an external drive using the USB type A connection. It is Roon ready and support is provided for both Spotify Connect and Tidal Connect. Integration with the Apple ecosystem is easy via the built-in Airplay 2, while the high quality HD Bluetooth 5.0 aptX connectivity supports direct streaming. Hard-wired connectivity is provided by the HDMI eARC input, the combo analogue/digital Mini TOSLINK/Stereo 3.5mm input and RCA subwoofer output. Speaker connectivity is provided by a two pairs of binding posts.

Multiple Bluesound players may be added to the system to create a very versatile whole-home, hi-res audio platform. Allowing the sending of player to player music or synching of multiple players to one stream. Full control is always available via the BluOS Controller app for iOS, Android, Mac, or PC, or using the elegant POWERNODE EDGE touch panel for quick-access controls like Play, Pause, and Volume Up/Down. Integration with other popular home automation control systems includes; Crestron, Control4, URC, RTI and ELAN with hands-free control being available using the voice assistants; Siri, Alexa, and Google Assistant.
