Victrola New Stream Sapphire Turntable – First Look

Victrola has just announce its new Stream Sapphire wireless turntable that builds on the DNA of the Victrola flagship Stream Carbon, has a custom walnut veneer plinth, premium quality components, and the ability to stream your vinyl to Sonos, UPnP, and Roon integrated systems supporting up to 24-bit/48kHz lossless FLAC audio.

This new turntable sports a vintage look with a low-resonance MDF plinth that is wrapped in a custom real walnut veneer. It comes with adjustable-height aluminum feet with a sound dampening base that provide easy self-leveling and vibration isolation. The die-cast aluminum plater is belt driven by a 2-speed brushless DC motor that uses servo-control to provide quiet and consistent speed control.

The included carbon-fiber tonearm uses a detachable head shell that carries a factory pre-aligned, audiophile-grade, Ortofon 2M Blue MM cartridge. Adjustments include, tracking/cartridge counterweight, anti-skating, overhang and zenith.

Multiple wireless connectivity options are available through the use of the Victrola Stream app. Allowing Roon subscribers, Sonus users and owners of UPnP network-enabled streaming devices to quickly and easily access a wireless vinyl experience with no additional equipment. For those wanting a hard-wired connection a pair of gold plated unbalanced line level RCA terminals can drive active speakers or a separate amplifier (not phono amplifier).

Finally, its premium illuminated control knob provides easy-to-use, tactile control for volume and playback directly from the turntable.
