Rotel Michi Series 2 – P5, X3 and X5 Upgrades – Quick Look

Michi is a flagship series of audiophile products built on the 55 years of experience and heritage of Rotel, a Japanese audio design and manufacturing specialist.
Rotel has just released three upgraded Michi Series 2 models: the P5 stereo preamp and the X3 and X5 integrated amplifiers. These new models are said by Rotel to include numerous component upgrades, with all three models now employing ultra-high precision 8-channel ESS SABRE 32-bit/768kHz ES9028PRO Hyperstream II DACs and having been refined with optimized signal paths and lower-noise circuitry.
P5 Series 2
Undergoing over 125 component upgrades the Michi P5 Series 2 Preamplifier now features dual 8-Channel ESS ES9028PRO SABRE digital-to-analog converters (DACs), each having been specially adapted for mono mode, supporting; MQA decoding (24-bit/384kHz), PCM (32-bit/384kHz) and DSD256. Power is provided by screened, custom, dual toroidal transformers, that keep the analog and digital supplies separated to help reduce noise and distortion. Connectivity includes; analogue (RCA/XLR), digital (coaxial/TOSLINK) and PC-USB with hardware for MQA/studio decoding. There is Bluetooth aptX HD connectivity, a MM/MC phono stage for vinyl enthusiasts and is certified Roon tested.
X3 Series 2
With over 90 component upgrades the Michi X3 Series 2 Integrated Amplifier delivers 350 Watts of Class AB power into 4 ohms and an 8-Channel ESS ES9028PRO SABRE Digital to Analog converter (DAC) to deliver an exceptional audiophile experience. All powered by a large shielded custom toroid for low stray magnetic fields and reduced interference. Connectivity includes; analog RCA/XLR, MM Phono, aptX HD Bluetooth, digital coaxial and TOSLINK and a PC-USB that supports (MQA/studio, PCM & DSD) plus the X3 Series 2 is certified Roon tested.
X5 Series 2
Combining over 95 component changes the Michi X5 Series 2 Integrated Amplifier delivers 600 Watts Class AB power into 4 ohms, an ESS ES9028PRO SABRE 8-Channel Digital to Analog converter and dual in-house manufactured oversized, shielded, low-noise toroidal transformers, delivering an exceptional high-end audiophile experience. Connectivity includes; analog RCA/XLR, MM/MC Phono, aptX HD Bluetooth, digital coaxial and TOSLINK and a PC-USB, plus the X5 Series 2 is certified Roon tested. The PC-input supports PCM (32-bit 384kHz) and Quad DSD (11.2MHz) with full MQA hardware decoding up to 24-bit 384kHz.
