This year Record Store Day 2021 will take place on two days, Saturday 12th June and Saturday 17th July. Unfortunately the organizers still do not know how COVID will impact the event so they decide to add July 17th to the original June 12th announced last December in order to create a similar concept to last years three day RSD Drop. This will again give record stores and their communities more time to organize events that will suite the conditions at that time.  Hopefully the big parties, shows, in-stores, crowds and celebrations will be able to be revived for Record Store Day 2022.

In the past vinyl enthusiast have been used to Record Store Day being a one day event held in April. However, as we saw last year the global pandemic forced it to be spread over three dates in August, September and October with a Black Friday special drop in November that wrapped everything up. The organizers are still concerned as to the status of the pandemic and how it might impact the record store supply chains due to production and distribution restrictions. So still wanting a successful RSD2021 they have opted to spread it out into another multi-day affair giving as many indie record shops as possible more time to help make the event successful .

So this year vinyl enthusiasts will get two days where thousands of independent record stores all around the world will sell specially crafted and often exclusive releases from hopefully in-store and/or online to.

The list of titles for both RSD drop dates will be released soon, so keep checking here or on the RSD web site.
