Pro-Ject Stereo Box S3 BT and MaiA DS3 Announced

Pro-Ject Audio Systems has announced two new integrated amplifiers; the ultra compact Stereo Box S3 BT and the slightly larger and well featured MaiA DS3. While the Stereo Box S3 BT features BT 5.0 with aptX HD capability (24-bit/48KHz), the extensively equipped MaiA DS3 features include; multiple inputs, a new Delta-Sigma DAC and support for BT 5.0 with aptX, aptX HD, A2DP profiles.
Stereo Box S3 Integrated Amplifier
Have limited space? Then the Stereo Box S3 might well meet your needs. This ultra compact integrated amplifier provides 2 x 20 watts into 8 ohms (40 watts into 4 ohms) with a preamp featuring Bluetooth 5.0 that supports aptX, aptX HD and A2DP profiles (24-bit/48kHz). Control is provided via the supplied IR remote that allows you to change the volume with the motor driven potentiometer and switch inputs, or via the front panel controls.
The amplifier provides two stereo sets of unbalanced RCA analog inputs, and a 3.5mm variable line output that can be used to drive a subwoofer. All in an aluminum case measuring only 4.0″W x 1.5″H x 4.5″D.
MaiA DS3 Integrated Amplifier
Looking or more power and features then the MaiA DS3 delivers 2 x 80 watts into 8 ohms (140 watts into 4 ohms). It comes with a digital-to-analog converter (DAC), selectable moving-coil/moving-magnet phono preamp, headphone amp, and aptX HD-enabled Bluetooth receiver. It is designed around a dual-mono architecture and supports DSD64/128/256 and PCM sample rates up to 24 bits/192kHz. All in an aluminum case only 8.0″W x 3.0″H x 9.5″D.
The supplied IR remote control allows you to change the volume with the motor driven potentiometer and switch inputs. The front panel contains the power on/off and power LED, 1/4″ headphone socket, volume control, DSD standard LED’s and buttons for; level boost, bluetooth pairing, and source selection.
Digital input connectivity includes; a coax S/PDIF, two optical S/PDIF and a USB input for the onboard DAC, with Bluetooth AptX HD for wireless connectivity. Analog inputs include MM/MC phono (rear panel selection) , and three pairs of unbalanced RCA connectors.
Analog outputs include; one fixed and one variable level pair of unbalanced RCA connectors together with a dedicated unbalanced RCA subwoofer output. Other rear panel connections include; 12v trigger I/O, speaker binding terminals and 36VDC power connector for the external power supply.
