California based OSD Audio has been around for two decades providing cost-effective audio equipment. This latest development is a versatile and more powerful stereo/amplifier DAC combination that improves upon their earlier DAC-XA100. This latest Class D design combines two channels at 100watt into 8 ohms with a high-performance digital-to-analog converter (DAC), all within a slim chassis.
The ESS ES9018KM2 SABRE32 DAC supports PCM up to 32 bits/384 kHz and DSD up to 11.2 MHz via I2S and 24bit/192KHz over USB and optical. While the Class D power amplifiers can deliver;
- 100 watts per channel into 8 ohms (10-30,000 Hz) at 1% THD with 2 channels driven
- 200 watts into 4 ohms
- 320 watts when bridged into a single 8-ohm load
Front and rear panel controls for balance, volume, level and tone are available for local control, while the supplied IR remote provides control of volume and A/B speaker selection.
Rear panel analog signal connectivity includes; an unbalanced RCA input that auto switches when a signal is detected, a main unbalanced RCA input and a high level screw-down (speaker) stereo input, plus an unbalanced RCA main out. Digital inputs include; Class 2-compliant USB Type A and optical.
Finally, other rear panel controls include; trigger I/O, high-level assignment, stereo/bridge, signal detect delay, power mode and mains voltage select.
