As promised by The Premium Audio Company, DIRAC, the Swedish company specializing in sound optimization, has just made available its Live Bass Control feature for license to four high-end AV receivers. These include the:

  • 11.2-channel Onkyo TX-RZ70
  • 11.4-channel Pioneer Elite VSX-LX805/VSA-LX805
  • 11.4-channel Integra DRX-8.4

This upgrade will provide exceptional flexibility in optimizing your HT experience when added to the pre-installed Dirac Live Room Correction impulse-response room correction technology.

This paid optional firmware upgrade can be purchased to support a single sub or multiple subs and maybe upgraded from a single to multiple subs at any time with the purchase of an additional license, giving users and system builders plenty of flexibility.

Dirac Live Bass Control can support the positioning of subs anywhere in your room with minimal impact on performance. It works by aggregating various measurements and data and then makes adjustments in order to optimize the rooms bass distribution. A task that becomes increasingly complex with multiple subwoofers. The firmware also optimizes the crossover between the subwoofer(s) and main speakers ensuring a smoother transition between them.

According to Dirac; Live Bass Control builds on the existing Dirac Live Room Correction by:

  1. Dirac Live Bass Control Single Subwoofer adds automatic calibration and filter adjustments for a single subwoofer towards the full-range speakers it supports.
  2. Dirac Live Bass Control Multi Subwoofer is designed for multiple subwoofer management. This version uses machine learning and AI to quickly determine the ideal settings for multiple subwoofers and automatically apply filters. This technique dramatically simplifies a procedure that could otherwise take several days to complete to the same standard.

MSRP:

  • Single-sub license: $349.00
  • Muti-sub license: $499.00
  • Multi-sub upgrade license: $169.00
