The reference AV 20 supports up to 15.4 connectivity, but provides a 13.4 balanced channel active configuration featuring Marantz HDAM discrete circuitry, with seven HDMI inputs, each of which is 8K UHD compatible. It is outfitted with the “latest and most powerful” Analogue Devices SHARC dual-core DSP chipset, which has been coupled with 32-bit two-channel DACs complete with dedicated jitter reduction, and the decoded 13.4 audio outputs are all supported on both RCA and XLR connections that are driven by HDAM SA-3 preamplifier stages.

Its 13.4 multi-channel surround sound decoding modes are extensive and include; DTS-HD, DTS:X, DTS:X Pro, DTS Virtual:X, DTS Neural:X (13ch), Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Atmos, Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization, Dolby Atmos Music, Dolby Surround, IMAX Enhanced, Auro 3D / 360 Reality Audio / MPEG H and multichannel stereo including DSD support. Wireless connectivity provides access to; Spotify Connect, Apple AirPlay 2, Tidal Connect, and the newly announced Qobuz Connect plus Bluetooth and Marantz’s HEOS multiroom streaming platform.

Room equalization is provided by Audyssey MultEQ XT32 advanced room optimization using the included microphone.
