Marantz Announces AV30 and AMP30 – First Look

Marantz has announced their latest additions to its home cinema range; the AV 30 Preamplifier and AMP 30 Power Amplifier. Taking their input from the Marantz Cinema series and featuring; “state-of-the-art processing” and “comprehensive features” plus the “iconic porthole” screen and selectable side lighting. The remote control for each model also features backlighting for ease of operation in dimly lit rooms.

According to Marantz the 11.4 channel AV30 processor comes with the “latest and most powerful” Analogue Devices SHARC dual-core DSP chipset, which is paired with 32-bit two-channel DACs. This results in the processor being able to decode and process “all forms of incoming audio”, including Dolby Atmos, IMAX Enhanced, DTS:X and AURO-3D.

Those 11.4 channels outputs are supported by the discrete HDAM SA-2 preamplifier stages, via either XLR or RCA. HDMI connectivity is available via seven HDMI 2.1 inputs, and three HDMI 2.1 outputs, all of which can support up to 8K/60Hz or 4K/120Hz video. Being powered by the HEOS platform, you also get access to an extensive range of streaming services to include; Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect for hi-res tunes, as well as AirPlay 2 and Bluetooth. Room equalisation is available using the onboard Audyssey MultEQ XT32 with included microphone, and for those looking for alternative room EQ, Dirac Live, Dirac Bass Control, and Dirac Active Room Treatment (ART) are available paid upgrades.
