KEF Releases Coda W Active Wireless Loudspeaker

KEF have just released a new wireless stand mount active speaker, the Coda W. Each cabinet providing 100 Watts of Class D amplification to the 5.25″ 12th Gen Uni-Q driver array, 70 Watts to the mid-bass and 30 Watts to the tweeter. The crossover and KEF’s Music Integrity Engine distortion elimination are executed in a DSP. Available in; Vintage Burgundy, Nickel Grey, Moss Green, Midnight Blue or Dark Titanium finishes.

The primary speaker deals with all inputs and power and digital signal distribution to the secondary speaker using a USB-C socket. A 3m C-Link interspeaker cable ships in the box but an 8m version is available as an optional extra.

Control is available locally using the primary speaker’s top-front edge features touch-sensitive controls for power on/off, mute, input selection and volume up/down, supplied remote or the KEF Connect App. The app also supports; EQ presets, manages speaker settings, updates firmware, and explores the latest features.

The “W” for Wireless refers to the Bluetooth 5.4 input rather than built-in network streaming. Support is for aptX Adaptive/Lossless enabling lossless carriage of CD-quality audio.

Primary speaker wired input connectivity includes; 1 x RCA line-level analogue, 1 x RCA MM phono, 1 x HDMI ARC, 1 x TOSLINK. Outputs include; 1 x RCA line-level sub and 1 x 24-bit/192kHz USB-C – opening the door to outboard network streamers. Other rear panel controls and connections include; on/off, AC power, ground lift, EQ preset, BT pairing and 1 x USB-C 5V/2A

Finally, the speakers are also compatible with KEF’s SQ1 floor stands.
