JVC has just announced two firmware updates for its current range of D-ILA projectors, to support the projector and its calibration. The firmware upgrades apply to those projectors whose software version is v2.10 or earlier.
This latest free V3.0 update includes the second generation of the company’s Frame Adapt HDR tone-mapping technology, which analyzes the peak brightness of HDR10 content for each scene or frame in real time and uses a proprietary algorithm to adjust and optimize dynamic range for improved picture quality and a “more three-dimensional appearance.”
It includes:
- Second Generation Frame Adapt that provides improved Dynamic Tone Mapping for HDR images with high peak white information in the image without the loss of color.
- The laser light source adjustment can be finely adjusted according to the environment and user preference. From 3 steps to now 100.
- USB backup function can be used to save and rewrite all user OSD settings at one time.
D-ILA models that will benefit from this firmware update include; DLA-25LTD, DLA-NZ9, DLA-NZ8, DLA-NZ7, DLA-NP5, DLA-RS4100, DLA-RS3100, DLA-RS2100, DLA-RS1100, DLA-N118, DLA-N98, DLA-N88, DLA-N80, DLA-N78, DLA-N77 and DLA-N70.
