JVC has just released firmware version 2.0. This is a free update that provides compatible projectors with new features, better performance, and increased convenience. The new enhancements include:

  • Superior frame-adaptive HDR with more options and settings
  • A new Laser Dynamic Control Mode – for laser light source models
  • A Filmmaker mode designed to preserve creative intent by optimizing settings for movies
  • A second HDR Quantizer mode, Auto mode(wide), that emphasizes brightness
  • Plus additional profiles to the Screen Adjustment function

The V2.0 firmware is compatible with the following projectors; DLA-NZ9, DLA-NZ8, DLA-NZ7, DLA-NP5, DLA-RS4100, DLA-RS3100, DLA-RS2100, DLA-RS1100, DLA-N118, DLA-N98, DLA-N88, DLA-N80, DLA-N78, DLA-N77, and DLA-N70.

The firmware upgrade process is relatively simple. However, as the projector has no direct connection to the Internet the new zipped firmware must be downloaded to a PC, unzipped and put onto a USB drive. The drive must be at least 1GB and formatted as FAT32.  Once loaded the drive is inserted into the projectors USB service terminal and then using its menu, select Function, then Software Update. You will then need to confirm you want to proceed. That’s it.

The V2.0 firmware update is available on the JVC website here.

JVC also released new calibration software for the following projectors; DLA-25LTD, DLA-NZ9, DLA-NZ8, DLA-NZ7, DLA-RS4100, DLA-RS3100, DLA-RS2100, DLA-N118, DLA-N98, DLA-N88, DLA-N80, DLA-NP5, DLA-RS1100, DLA-N78, DLA-N77, DLA-N70. It can be found here.

New screen codes are also available here.
