Free Firmware Update:
For most, this projector will not be attainable, but do not feel left out, JVC is supplying a free firmware upgrade to owners of the current generation D-ILA projectors to provide new features, improved performance and enhanced ease of operation.
The firmware upgrade for all current generation D-ILA projectors includes:
- New HDR level mode added to Frame Adapt HDR plus improved Frame Adapt HDR picture performance
- Two additional picture modes that can be adjusted based on Frame Adapt HDR
- New LASER DYNAMIC CONTROL mode for laser models
- New FILMMAKER MODE faithfully reproduces the filmmaker’s intentions
- Additional screens for Screen Adjustment mode
Supported projectors include; DLA- NZ9, DLA-NZ8, DLA-NZ7, DLA-NP5, DLA-RS4100, DLA-RS3100, DLA-RS2100, and DLA-RS1100.
JVC has indicated that the firmware update will be demonstrated at CEDIA Expo 2022 and will be available mid-November 2022.

If only JVC painted it red, as they have with previous limited editions, I would have been on board with this purchase. Now I’ll have to leave my money in the stock market and continue to watch it go down.
