Goldmund Telos 800 Stereo Power Amp – Quick Look

It appears that Goldmund is ‘on a roll’ pushing one product after another out in recent months. This latest release is the Telos 800 stereo power amplifier, coming right on the heals of the Telos 690 integrated amp, Mimesis Reference preamp and Telos 2800 mono amp.
The 800 is quoted as delivering 300 watts (RMS) per channel into eight ohms, or 390 watts into four ohms, both channels driven. Ample power is available from its 3,200VA toroidal power transformer and 93,600 μF capacitor bank. Claimed IMD and THD+N distortions of less than 0.05 per cent with a noise floor below 3 μV from 20Hz to 20KHz are correspondingly impressive. The 800 supports a dynamic range of 110 dB, together with a damping factor of 600 at 1 kHz into 8 Ω.
Rear panel connectivity includes; two balanced XLR and two unbalanced RCA connectors, one RCA S/PDIF digital input and output, four speaker binding posts and two Goldmund speaker 4B type connectors.
Finally the Telos 800 is available in its iconic silver-grey finish, though a black version is available on demand. And for a bespoke touch, the silver-grey ring on the top left of the front chassis can be replaced with a gold one.
