Goldmund Launches Telos 2800 Mono Power Amplifier

High end audio company Goldmund of Geneva, Switzerland has launched their latest monoblock amplifier, the Goldmund Telos 2800 Mono Amplifier. Finished in the Goldmund classic silver grey, the Telos 2800 is the Swiss HiFi brand’s latest monoblock amplifier design. This latest edition to their high-end hi-fi components can provide up to 450 watts into 8 ohms.
According to Goldmund; “this state-of-the-art amplifier redefines the standards of sound quality and precision”, delivering a maximum power output of 450 Wrms into 8 ohms with 1% THD and a promised dynamic range of 110dB within a 22kHz of bandwidth. The design supports an extremely low noise floor of <3 μV from 20 Hz to 20 kHz (RCA inputs shorted), with the unloaded THD+N being quoted as 0.05% IMD (SMPTE) from 20 Hz to 20 kHz at 30 Vrms output.
Case design has been upgraded now featuring a more robust panel design, with the thickness increased to 12mm from the previous 6-8mm. These improvements not only reinforce the amplifier’s structure but also enhance its mechanical stability and vibration management capabilities. Similar to other models Telos 2800 customers again have the choice to customize the top left front ring of their Telos 2800 in either gold or silver grey, ensuring it complements any décor seamlessly.
This powerful amplifier boasts a damping factor of 600 at 1 kHz into 8 ohms, promising excellent speaker control and for those requiring a little more or less gain the 2800 supports 35 dB, +/- 9 dB (adjustable in 3 dB increments).
Powering the Telos 2800 is a 3,200 VA toroidal power transformer complemented by a large bank of Goldmund custom capacitors totaling 109,600 µF. The Swiss high-end audio brand claims that these enhancements help improve the dynamics and speed of the amplifier.
Ensuring sufficient heat dissipation the Telos 2800 benefits from a new CNC machined heat sink that covers the entire rear panel of the amplifier, creating more surface area and helping to dissipate heat generated by the power supply.
Finally the rear panel connectivity includes; balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs, coaxial digital input and output, a serial control DB9, with speaker connectivity supported by a pair of binding posts and a 4B connector. Separate grounding and earth binding posts are provided together with an earth lift switch.
