Dirac of Sweden has announced the release of its Live Active Room Treatment (ART) room equalization solution for a range of Denon and Marantz AV receivers and processors. This latest high-end professional-grade processing addition is available for all current Denon and Marantz models already supporting both Dirac Live Room Correction and Dirac Live Bass Control, providing an even higher level of performance.

According to Dirac; “ART (Active Room Treatment) is a groundbreaking technology for those seeking ultimate control over their sound experience. It represents the next generation of room correction, moving beyond simple equalisation to actively manage the listening environment’s acoustics.”

The range of AVR’s that now support ART include; Denon’s flagship AVR-A1H and AVR-A10H, the AVR-X6800H, AVR-X4800H, and AVR-X3800H (known as AVC models in Europe), as well as Marantz’s AV10, AV20, CINEMA 30, CINEMA 40, and CINEMA 50.

Advantages At A Glance:

  • Reduced room resonance & reverberation
  • Tighter and cleaner bass
  • Expanded consistent listening area
  • Optimised speaker usage
  • Flexible speaker placement

Dirac Live ART was originally introduced in 2023 and builds on the existing Dirac Live platform by enabling every loudspeaker in the room to cooperate in managing the rooms low-frequency behavior. By controlling the critical 20–150Hz range, the system reduces reverberation times and improves bass articulation across the listening space. Unlike traditional correction tools that treat each speaker independently, ART applies Dirac’s patented Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) technology to align phase and optimise the sound field in real time. This is claimed to result is bass that is smoother, tighter, and more consistent, even in asymmetrical rooms and rooms without the benefits of  physical acoustic treatment.

Owners of compatible Denon and Marantz models can upgrade with a Dirac Live ART licence for US $299. Licences can be purchased individually or bundled with Dirac Live Room Correction and Bass Control as a suite of products.

MSRP (ART upgrade):

  • US: $299.00
  • UK: £(exchange rate dependent)
