Chord Releases Ultima Integrated & BerTTi Amplifiers

UK designer and manufacture of hifi equipment, Chord Electronics in Kent, has just announced the pre-order of two new products, the Ultima Integrated 125W amplifier and its BerTTi stereo 75W power amplifier.
The new Ultima Integrated amplifier is the first and only full-width model in the company’s integrated range for seven years and follows on from a line of full-width Ultima-technology power amplifiers including; the original flagship Ultima mono power amplifier (780W), the Ultima 2 (750W) and 3 (480W) mono power amplifiers and Ultima 5 (350W) and 6 (180W) stereo power amplifiers.
The Ultima Integrated amplifier features the latest dual-feed-forward error-correction topology, which monitors and immediately corrects signals before the output stage and includes both proprietary MOSFET’S and their legendary proprietary ultra-high-frequency power supplies.
Connectivity includes; one balanced stereo XLR and three unbalanced stereo RCA line inputs (no phono input). Outputs include; one balanced stereo XLR line level and one balanced stereo XLR AV bypass. All inputs are individually buffered and provide RF noise filtering. Input selection is via microprocessor controlled sealed relays with a trigger I/O for on/off remote switching.
The Ultima’s case is precision machined from solid aircraft-grade aluminum, with its front 28mm thick panel sharing the same design as the Ultima PRE 3 preamp. The upper panel is a vented design and contains a dimmable LED light ring. The case finish is available in either Jett Black or Argent Silver finishes but maybe ordered with a highly polished black acrylic side block option at no extra cost.
Control is via the two illuminated front panel knobs, one for volume and input selection, the other a combined balance and AV bypass control and/or the supplied IR remote. With the illuminated and dimmable, central panel polychromtic sphere being used as both an on/off button and indicating playing status.
The BerTTi power amplifier is a table-top, fully balanced 75W stereo power amplifier, that also benefits from the latest dual-feed-forward error-correction topology and proprietary ultra-high-frequency power supplies. Additional features include; two modified power supplies, an additional auxiliary power rail for the front end and custom-made MOSFETs. Connectivity includes; both balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA stereo gold plated inputs, gold-plated loudspeaker terminals and a 10A IEC power inlet.
The case is again precision-machined from solid aircraft-grade aluminum and comes in a choice of Jett Black or Argent Silver.
