Bowers & Wilkins 801 Abbey Road Limited Edition Loudspeaker

Bowers & Wilkins, in recognition of its 45-year partnership with the iconic London studio, has announced the 801 Abbey Road Limited Edition loudspeaker. This makeover of their flagship 801 D4 will be limited to just 140 pairs.

The finishes of this limited edition model gives a nod to the traditional walnut interiors of studios and many musical instruments and the aesthetics of the world-famous control room in Studio Two and the red leather chairs found throughout the building.

The technical performance of this latest 3-way vented box design limited edition matching that of the 801 D4, having a 90dB sensitive (on axis at 2.83Vrms at 1m), measuring 48.1Hx17.8Wx23.6D inches, with a 1-inch diamond dome tweeter, 6-inch Continuum cone FST mid and a pair of 10-inch Aerofoil Profile bass drivers. With a claimed frequency range of -6dB 13Hz – 35KHz and a 15Hz – 28KHz ±3dB frequency response. Second and third harmonic distortion at 90dB is specified as, <1% 30Hz – 20KHz and <0.3% 100Hz – 20KHz.

Finally, the 801 Abbey Road Limited Edition not only features a commemorative rear faceplate indicating its limited-edition number, but arrives with a specially commissioned book detailing the history of the two brands and their collaboration in this special package.
