Audio Pro has announced a second-generation Link network streamer, the Link 2, replacing their earlier circular Link 1. Yet another entry-level streaming contender.

Data connectivity includes wired Ethernet, internal 802.11 b/g/n 2.4 and 5GHz wi-fi, Bluetooth 4.2, USB-A for connections to a NAS, drive or USB stick, and stereo analog RCA in. These incoming signals are decoded and available via optical, coaxial and analog RCA outputs to drive amplifiers and active speakers. Alternatively, the Link 2 can send that digital stream directly to an outboard DAC via its TOSLINK and coaxial outputs. Sound transport formats supported include; Apple Lossless, AAC, FLAC, MP3 and WMA.

Streaming service support includes; Apple AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Tidal Connect and Spotify Connect. Additional streaming services and USB storage device streaming is handled by Audio Pro’s own Control app.

The front panel displays four LED’s indicating the active input. While the top of the Link 2 provides local selection of the inputs, Bluetooth status, power status, volume controls and previous, pause/play and next buttons plus 4 presets.

Finally in addition to the multi-room streaming functionality offered by Apple AirPlay 2 and Google Cast, Audio Pro’s Control app can send the analog RCA input to a second Link 2 in another home location.
