Since Volumio of Italy’s launch in 2013 it has grown to be a significant provider in the media player market by bringing together some of the best features of the competition in one universal application. Their latest offering to the streaming world is the Integro Streaming Integrated Amplifier – Just Add Speakers. It sports a sleek and compact aluminum Italian style case with a host of connectivity options.

Billed as a plug-and-play device this compact streaming integrated amplifier offers dual-mono Class-D technology, a high quality headphone amplifier and there is plenty of connectivity to accommodate numerous sources including; turntable audio (pre-amp required), CD, TV and phone. You can access your digital music library and streaming services, including; Spotify, TIDAL, Qobuz and Roon at up to 192kHz/24bit via Gigabit LAN or dual-band Wi-Fi and Volumio plugins allow you to connect to many additional services and functionalities such as Youtube, Soundcloud, Radio Paradise, FusionDSP and more.

The Class D speaker amplification is provided by a pair of MA12070P amplifiers from Infineon in dual-mono configuration providing; 2x50W RMS into an 8 Ohms or 2x70W RMS into 4 Ohms. A high quality headphone output is also available via its 1/4in (6.5mm) front panel socket that is driven by a TI PCM5122 DAC partnered with with a TI TPA6120A2 headphone amplifier. The result is a headphone output with a 192kHz/24bit resolution and 2x300mW RMS into 64 ohms, 2x480mW RMS into 32 ohms.

Rear panel connectivity is quite extensive and includes; speaker binding posts, USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports, an ethernet port, HDMI video out (supports touch screens), coax and optical digital inputs, stereo analogue line level RCA inputs and an RCA line level subwoofer out. Enhanced storage is supported by a Micro-SD card slot with wireless connectivity available via Wi-Fi 802.11 and Bluetooth 5.0.

Control is via the front panel knobs and Volumio OS Universal platform featuring the multi-room version of the Manifest user interface for “simple and intuitive management of your musical content”. With the front panel OLED display and colored LED showing selected source, volume, status etc. Add to all this their recently announced AI music discovery service, the ChatGPT search powered by Supersearch will find you better recommendations and more accurate search results, refining your musical profile. There is also Volumio Premium, for a monthly fee, that adds a host of additional features. Its a win-win product.
