Totem Announces KIN ONE Speakers- Quick Look

Totem Acoustics of Canada have announced the KIN ONE passive speaker that is a completely redesigned entry-level model in Totem’s KIN “companion-brand” lineup. This latest 2-way monitor loudspeaker is available in five satin finishes; orange, blue, pink, white and black.
Using “trickle-down” technology with respect to; driver technology, cabinet design and crossover circuitry, the KIN ONE integrates a great deal of technical know-how learned from Totem products, including the “Model One” and “Element FIRE v2“ designs. Its features custom proprietary drivers, to include the Multiple Strata Hex Cone (MHEX) woofer, which combines the stiffness of metal with the responsiveness of paper, and a titanium-infused soft dome tweeter.
The cabinet geometry in conjunction with the crossover assists with the precise base tuning of the KIN ONE. Using seven high quality precision components, the 2nd order crossover is of a minimalist design providing a crossover frequency of 2.5KHz and a combined impedance of 6 ohms. The “L shaped” port achieving a much longer length in a small cabinet helping to minimize cabinet resonances. This port design allows information to exist below 65Hz helping to create the 65 Hz to 22 kHz ± 3 dB frequency response, and reaching down to 4oHz at -12dB.
Finally rear panel connectivity consists of a single pair of gold plated binding posts.
