Topping Audio based in Guangzhou city, China have released two new mono power amplifiers, the B100 and B200. Both use the T’ang-ku-la module, a new development that is based upon a three-stage feedback circuit technology. This Class B design is said to significantly reduce heat generation. The B100 can deliver 70 watts, while the B200 can deliver 200 watts, both with a THD+N of <1% into 8 ohms. At lower powers up to 5 watts, both can produce THD+N ratings of <0.00008% into 4 ohms.
The B100 is a mono design, providing a single selectable XLR/TRS or RCA input. All controls and connectivity are rear panel mounted with a front panel touch on/off button.
The B200 is a mono bridged design that offers three selectable inputs, each supporting XLR or TRS balanced input. The desired input is selected by touching the front panel on/off button and is displayed by a small white led on the front panel. Gain switching and DC trigger are rear panel mounted.
Two B100/B200′ s are required to create a stereo system but provide a 12 volt trigger input to simultaneously turn both on/off. Speaker connectivity is via one pair of speaker binding posts with power provided by an external supply. Both models also support switchable gain levels, the B100 provides 0-29dB based upon input style, while the B200 supports either 11.6dB or 22dB gain.
