TEAC Announces NT-507T Network Transport – Quick Look

Japanese HiFi brand TEAC has announced the NT-507T, a dedicated network streaming transport, no DAC, that expands its Reference 500 Series. The NT-507T has been designed as a digital-only companion to the TEAC UD-507 DAC/preamp, supporting network playback for both TEAC and third-party DACs with USB input. It will be available in both silver and black finishes.
At the core of the design is TEAC’s G4 Network Engine, developed specifically for audio streaming, prioritising timing precision and low noise. The unit uses a linear power supply and a toroidal transformer with four independent windings to provide low noise DC supplies to the network, USB, Wi-Fi, and LED sections, reducing any possibility of interference or noise from switched mode supplies.
The NT-507T supports Qobuz, Spotify, TIDAL, and TuneIn, including integration for TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, and Spotify Connect. Supported formats include FLAC, ALAC, WAV, AIFF, MQA, DSF, DSDIFF, MP3, and AAC, handling PCM up to 768 kHz/32-bit and DSD up to 22.5 MHz. It is Roon Ready for multi-room playback and OpenHome compliant for use with third-party control apps, and TEAC’s HR Streamer application. The HR Streamer app allows full control of the NT-507T from a smartphone or tablet, while its USB volume function lets users adjust the volume of connected DACs or preamps through the app, all simplifying system operation.
The construction features a semi-floating 2.8 mm aluminium top panel that helps reduce vibration and improve structural rigidity, while stress-less isolation feet provide mechanical stability
Finally, network connectivity options include; Ethernet RJ45, SFP optical, and Wi-Fi 6. The SFP optical connection isolating the unit from network noise. Two USB ports (1 x Type-A and 1 x Type-C) allow playback from flash drives, HDD’s, or SSD’s, enabling the unit to function as a basic music server.
