Rega Unveils AYA Loudspeakers

Rega has just announced the launch of its new AYA passive loudspeakers, a culmination of over ten years of development. This latest design uses handmade bass and mid/bass drivers coupled with their ZRR high frequency tweeter and a new crossover, all housed within a cabinet molded from glass reinforced cement (GRC).
Rega claims that; “the sculptured cabinets and stands create an attractive, floating effect which adds to the unique appearance”.
After a decade of trials and development, the AYA loudspeakers are housed in a unique, UK manufactured cabinet molded from glass-reinforced cement. The glass fibers that make up the construction reduces the weight whilst increasing the structural integrity of this 2.5 way band pass enclosure.

Contained within the GRC enclosure is a Rega ZRR high-frequency tweeter with handmade 5″ (127mm) MX-125 mid/bass and 7″ (178mm) RR7.8 bass drivers. Sensitivity is quoted as being 89.5dB with 6ohm impedance.
According to Rega; “Thanks to the combination of the new enclosure and drive unit configuration, the AYA loudspeakers deliver a tight accurate bass response and the Rega signature midrange and detailed highs”.
Available in a steel grey finish only and in order to maintain a cost effective offering, the magnetic grilles are available as an optional extra (£80).
