Rega is celebrating their 50th Anniversary with a special edition of the legendary Rega Planar 3. Presented in the popular walnut effect finish, this turntable package comes with; a 12mm float glass Opti-white platter, a hand tuned Neo PSU MK2 and a handmade Rega Exact moving magnet cartridge factory fitted to the RB330 precision tonearm. The drive system uses their  Reference EBLT drive belt and 24V motor which is fitted with a custom CNC’d aluminum drive pulley to deliver reliable performance and speed accuracy.

The RB330 tonearm features a brand-new bearing housing with “almost friction free movement from the new high precision bearing assemblies” and their latest tonearm tube is designed using “intelligent redistribution of mass”, ensuring that the arm will exhibit fewer points of possible resonance.

The rigid, walnut effect plinth, is made from a lightweight particulate laminated core with a highly rigid phenolic resin skin that uses Rega’s double brace system of a 3mm phenolic bottom brace and metalized skin phenolic top brace. All of which is said to “prevents energy absorption and unwanted resonance”. The plinth supports the patented brass main hub central bearing, 24 V low noise low voltage precision motor with custom CNC machined aluminum pulley and motor control PCB assembly.

This belt drive turntable uses the Neo MK2 PSU advanced turntable power supply that provides user controllable fine speed adjustment, an advanced anti-vibration motor circuit and the convenience of electronic speed change. The Neo MK2 is said to reduce motor noise, improve speed stability and rotational speed accuracy.
