Pro-Ject Announces The Speaker Box 3E Models

Pro-Ject have announced a new pair of two way, passive and very affordable, stand mount/bookshelf speakers, the Speaker Box 3E and the slightly larger Speaker Box 3E Carbon.

The Speaker Box 3E is the smaller of the two pairs measuring 6.3 x 4.17 x 5.98 inches (160 x 106 x 152mm) (HxWxD). Mounted into the MDF cabinet are a 0.75” silk dome tweeter and a 3″ fiber glass mid/bass driver providing a nominal impedance of 4 Ohms and 85dB sensitivity. The bass reflex cabinet uses a rear-firing port to extend the bass frequency response that is quoted as 89Hz – 20kHz.

The Speaker Box 3E Carbon is based upon the same two-way bass-reflex design but enlarges the cabinet to 6.89 x 4.69 x 5.98 inches (175 x 119 x 152mm) (HxWxD). Overall appearance is improved and the 3 inch mid/bass driver is upgraded to carbon fiber. The resulting design has a nominal impedance of 4 Ohms, an 85dB sensitivity with the quoted bass frequency response now being 83Hz – 20kHz.

Connectivity for both models is via gold plated rear panel binding posts.

Both designs are available in black or white or for a little extra a Walnut finish is available.
