Onkyo, Integra & Pioneer AVR’s Receive New Feature Firmware

The Premium Audio Company (PAC), has released a firmware update for many of its Integra, Onkyo, and Pioneer audio video receivers (AVRs) that will improve the functionality, connectivity, and the overall user experience. This firmware update will enhance both custom integration functionality and ease of use, allow users to accurately optimize Klipsch architectural speakers and improves display performance.
Klipsch Optimized Mode
Adding to the existing range of customized crossover frequencies for the Klipsch Reference Premiere and Reference speakers, the precise crossover frequencies have been added for Klipsch Custom, Design, Pro and THX architectural speakers, as well as the new Klipsch Reference Premiere subwoofers. This eliminates any guesswork or selection of arbitrary settings assigned by some automatic room calibration solutions.
AVRs with added Klipsch Optimized Mode for Klipsch architectural products include:
- Onkyo TX-RZ70, TX-RZ50, TX-NR7100, TX-NR6100, TX-NR5100, TX-NR6050
- Integra DRX-8.4, DRX-5.4, DRX-3.4, DRX-2.4
Custom Integration (CI) & User Feature Improvements
Custom installers and users now have a significantly expanded range of tools to simplify IP-based custom integration features. The expanded “tool-kit” includes:
- Web Setup
- Access Web Setup by IP address from any browser-based device
- Additions to web setup latest Firmware include:
- HDCP timing adjust increases compatibility across connected devices
- Sink test now includes bandwidth to determine maximum resolution of signal over cable runs
- Firmware Update command now available within Web Setup
- Additional User Improvements
- Input Skip functionality added to minimize user error
- The ability to compare Dirac response curves more easily on AVRs equipped with DIRAC

Additional On-Screen and App Display Features
Additional on-screen and app displays are now avilable to enhance user experience and improve gaming experiences. Two “gaming awareness” specs have been added to the on-screen display so that gamers can now see that they are correctly selected. They include;
- Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM)
- Variable Refresh Rate (VRR)
HDMI Source-Based Tone Mapping (SBTM) information has also been added to the info (video) display, in addition to other minor improvements to enhance overall system stability and Bluetooth Connectivity.
