Nakamichi 12-inch Subwoofer For Dragon HTS – Quick Look

Nakamichi has unveiled a room-shaking 12-inch subwoofer upgrade for its Dragon home cinema system. A recent survey by Nakamichi showed that 67 per cent of respondents prefer a subwoofer with a 12-inch or larger driver, while 41 per cent fancy having three or more subs in their room.
Well Nakamichi rose to those survey results by releasing an 80lbs (36Kg) sub that uses a 12″ carbon fibre-reinforced aluminum driver, paired with a 12-inch carbon passive radiator. The 12″ driver being driven by a DSP controlled 650watt peak power amplifier, and is claimed to reach all the way down to 19Hz. It is built with a rigid and thick MDF enclosure that is internally braced to effectively withstand the sonic pressure. Uncover the gold front-firing driver by removing the magnetic grille or keep a sleek, minimalistic look with the grille in place. A real step-up from the original 8-inch dual-opposing drivers.
For bass addicts you can add up to four of these 12″ wireless subs to Nakamichi’s modular Dragon system that supports; up 21 channels, 15 digital amplifiers, six up-firing speakers, and a pair of Omni-Motion Reference Surrounds. The wireless system also support DTS:X Pro.
Control couldn’t be simpler using the DRAGON Mobile App and On-Screen Display. Adjust bass controls, volume, crossover levels, and low-frequency effects (LFE) to suit your sound preferences.
If you want to join the Dragon “club” the Dragon system with two 12-inch subs, together with a 58-inch main unit and two Omni-Motion Reference Surrounds, it is priced at $5,599.99, with the original setup with dual 8-inch subs coming in at $3,999.99. For those with deep pockets the four 12 inch sub full Dragon system comes in at $8,499.00.
