Naim Classic Range – 300 Series – Quick Look

British audiophile company Naim has recently announced its latest 300 series from its New Classic Range, the; NSS 333 streamer, NAC 332 pre-amplifier, NAP 350 monoblock power amplifier and NVC TT phono stage with a separate dedicated NPX TT power supply. Naim state that the performance of the NVC TT phono stage, NSS 333 streamer and NAC 332 pre-amplifier can be enhanced by using the NPX TT and NPX 300 separate power supplies.

NSS 333 Streamer

The NSS 333 supports file formats to include; WAV, FLAC, AIFF, MP3, AAC, OGG, WMA, DSD, and M4A, from both UPnP devices and streaming services to include; Spotify, Apple Music, TIDAL and Qobuz, with more streaming options from its built in compatibility with Apple AirPlay 2, Chromecast and Bluetooth aptX. Additional digital connectivity is supported over Optical TOSLINK, coaxial RCA, BNC and USB type A connections. Analog connectivity includes; stereo balanced XLR, stereo unbalanced RCA and 5 pin DIN.

Control is via App (iOS and Android), bi-directional ZigBee remote (also controls 332) and front panel controls, with an optical 3.5mm output for synchronized control of compatible products e.g. NAP. While a full-color, high-resolution 5.5-inch display shows track details and more.

NAC 332 Pre-amplifier

The NAC 332 is claimed by Naim to be the “analogue centre” of your system and we told that it borrows many elements from Naim’s flagship Statement S1 pre-amp, making it an “analogue source hub without compromise”.  The NAC 332 links perfectly to the NSS 333 streamer and NAP 350 power amplifier using the ZigBee optical connection, being remotely controlled by the features of the bi-directional ZigBee remote.

High quality performance is assured by using “Class A discrete balanced input circuits”, while a high power (1.5 watt Class A) amplifier drives the headphone connection. Analog input connectivity includes:

• 1 x 8-pin DIN
• 2 x 5-pin DIN
• 3 x RCA pair
• 2 x XLR balanced pair
• 8-pin DIN compatible with 5-pin DIN
• 8-pin DIN has +/-18V (for compatible external phono stages e.g. NVC TT)

While analog output is supported on:

• 1 x XLR pair (balanced 10Vrms max)
• 1 x RCA pair (10Vrms max)

For vinyl support just add the NVC TT phono stage.

NAP 350 Monoblock Power Amplifier

This Pure class A/B fully regulated monoblock design is said to provide; 175 Watts 8Ω @0.1% THD+N (195W @1%) or 345 Watts 4Ω @1% THD+N. With an output peak current of +/-42 amps (1.7kW peak power) this monoblock power amplifier should drive even the most demanding of speakers. Analog input connectivity is supported on a single balanced XLR with integrated control again being available via the ZigBee optical connection.

With its silent cooling system this monoblock  is easy to install in your chosen environment with no sound disruption.

NVC TT Phono Stage

Get the most out of your vinyl collection with NVC TT. Using unbalanced RCA inputs and offering a selection on the rear panel of up to 16 resistive and 16 capacitive load values this phono amplifier is compatible with most MC or MM cartridges. Analog outputs include; 1 x Stereo RCA, 1 x 5 pin DIN and 1 x 8 pin DIN. It also supports linking to its dedicated NPX TT power supply that is said to offer improved performance. Furthermore it easily connects to NAC 332 or NSC 222 preamplifiers for control.
