Building on the success of the Nagra Streamer, the Nagra Compact Player has now been released, an all-in-one solution for high-end digital playback. It combines an advanced streaming architecture with a carefully engineered D/A conversion stage into one chassis, offering a simple and elegant digital source. Its compact form factor chassis is CNC-machined from a solid aluminum billet, providing the mechanical rigidity and vibration resistance essential for low-noise digital performance.

At its core, the Compact Player employs a high-performance DAC chip set followed by a dual-mono analog output stage, with dedicated circuitry per channel to enhance channel separation and minimize crosstalk. Particular attention has been given to clock architecture, power supply regulation, and PCB layout to ensure low jitter, reduced noise, and optimal signal integrity throughout the conversion process.

The Compact Player supports PCM up to 384 kHz / 32-bit and DSD 256, streamed from major online platforms or reproduced from locally stored files via UPnP/DLNA or USB storage. With a measured noise floor of –140 dB (A-weighted) and a low output impedance of 14 Ohms, it integrates seamlessly with a wide range of preamplifiers, integrated amplifiers, power amplifiers or active speakers.
The Compact Player is supplied with its own external power supply. However, for enhanced performance, it can be upgraded with the Nagra Compact PSU, a dedicated high-performance power supply with the same compact footprint. Owners of a Nagra MPS or Classic PSU (12 V) may also power the Compact Player using an optional LEMO-to-DC jack cable.
