Nagra have just announced their Compact Phono high-performance MC/MM phono stage, a precision-crafted stage that captures the essence of its flagship models in a compact, vibration-controlled all chassis that is milled from a solid billet of aluminum.

Features include; Class A operation, dual-mono layout, all-discrete components, and ultra-low noise power regulation. The stated frequency response is 20 Hz–50 KHz ±1 dB with a THD+N <0.1% and SNR >80 dB. The RIAA design uses a 10 dB Nagra-made step-up transformer, also found in the VPS, for MC input. Users can select between 47.5 dB and 62 dB gain depending on system needs. Standard loading is set at 100 Ohms, with additional load values available via authorized Nagra dealers.

The Compact Phono’s internal power stage is supported by ultra-high rejection regulators and a dual-stage filtering system. However, the supply can upgraded for even higher performance using either the Nagra external MPS or Classic PSU power supplies using a Lemo to DC cable.
