Musical Fidelity has revealed the M6xTT, a high-end turntable with the same design principles as their flagship M8xTT, but at a more affordable price point. This latest model is designed around a clear acrylic plinth and includes a 9” tonearm.

The Musical Fidelity M6xTT Turntable features a non-resonant dual-layer acrylic plinth design that isolates the tonearm and bearing assembly from the motor. The plinth is supported by four height-adjustable magnetic feet with Teflon spacers, ensuring stable support and resonance control. The inverted bearing with ceramic ball tip supports the turntables 14.6lbs (6.6Kg) aluminum platter that is damped with TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) for improved stability and sound quality.

The platter is belt driven by a a sophisticated DC-driven AC generator/motor. This system generates frequency and voltage internally, resulting in stable rotation speeds of 33 and 45rpm, which can be adjusted with push-button controls. The motor sits on special foam in the lower level acrylic plinth that decouples it from the platter and the tonearm that are fastened to the upper plinth.

The M6xTT includes a specially developed 9″ tonearm featuring a conical aluminum tube with fixed headshell and acrylic bearing ring for ultra-low resonance. It is fully adjustable for azimuth and VTA and includes two TPE-damped counterweights, accommodating a variety of cartridges. Connectivity is via its 5P DIN.
