McIntosh Laboratory, Inc. has just announced the the launch of the MX200 A/V Processor. This flexible 8K/4K/HD A/V Processor delivers up to 11.2 channels of signal processing and can seamlessly integrate into to a range of home theater configurations, supporting Dolby Atmos or DTS:X surround-sound setups ranging from 5.1 channels to 7.2.4 channels and everything in between. At just over 4 inches in height, and rack mountable, its slender form factor caters for both DIY enthusiasts and professional integrators by including both Dirac and third party control options.

The MX-200 comes with Dirac Live Room Correction Full Bandwidth and its required license, delivering advanced room adjustment and acoustics correction. This technology uses time domain correction and patented mixed-phase filter technology to remove unwanted acoustical effects created by the listening space. Access to the program is via an intuitive user interface and step-by-step guide. For quick on-the-fly tone adjustment, both bass and treble control are available.

Internally there are seven 32-bit digital-to-analog converters (DACs) to deliver audiophile-grade sound processing that supports 8K/4K and HD content playback. With rear panel input connectivity extending to; 4xHDMI, 2xcoaxial & optical digital and 1xRCA unbalanced & XLR balanced analog, plus 1xmoving-magnet (MM) phono input.

Rear panel processor output connectivity supporting; 11 balanced XLR outputs and two unbalanced RCA subwoofer outputs, plus 1xHDMI output that supports enhanced Audio Return Channel (eARC) functionality, 8K/60Hz and 4K/120Hz video playback, 4:4:4 color spacing, Rec. 2020 color, and 3D video pass-through in addition to Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and HLG high-dynamic range (HDR). Other connectors include; 1xRJ45 network, 1xRS232, 1xmic, 1xIR in, 1x data out and trigger I/O.

The MX200 is integrator friendly, coming with rack ears and supporting home automation system integration via RS232 being certified for both Control4 and Works with Crestron. The rear panel also contains a USB port that allows backup options via computer or USB stick providing the freedom for users or integrators to experiment with different configuration file settings.

Finally, the appearance is that of a traditional McIntosh design including an aluminum and glass front panel, illuminated logo, and silver-ringed control knobs.
