McIntosh Group Acquired by Highlander
Soon there will be just a handful private mega investment firms owning everything! Well that is sure what it seems like.
The McIntosh Group has just been acquired by Highlander Partners, a Dallas-based private investment firm that manages over $2 billion in assets. They released the news on 6/15/22 describing this purchase as the basis for their new “luxury technology platform”.
Since 1949, the McIntosh Group has been anchored by the legendary McIntosh brand. This Group also owns Sonus Faber, a luxury designer and manufacturer of premium speakers based in Vicenza, Italy. In addition to these two luxury home theater manufactures the Group also provides distribution services across North America, Central and South America, the United Kingdom, and Benelux for their owned brands as well as several third-party brands including; Pro-Ject, Rotel, and Bassocontinuo. The Group also has a thriving automotive entertainment business, providing audio technology for select premium models, including the Grand Wagoneer, Jeep Grand Cherokee L, Maserati Grecale and MC20.
According to Highlander’s President and CEO, “we believe there is a unique opportunity to acquire other consumer luxury technology brands and intend to stay active in the category.”
